Chianti Classico Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil D.O.P.
From Tuscany, Le Fonti’s Chianti Classico Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil D.O.P. is a very particular extra virgin olive oil made from 1000 olive trees. Every year from late October to mid November the olives are handpicked and combed from the trees. The olives are taken to the oil mill every two days. Le Fonti's mill in Panzano presses the olives under nitrogen protection to avoid early oxidization. This way the oil retains its best ingredients and enhances the taste even better.
Golden-green in color with a spicy taste, this cold-pressed olive oil is ideal for salads, vegetables and Tuscan meals.
Especially crafted for the western market, this EVOO is USDA Organic compliant and an authentic Italian product that bears the D.O.P. logo proudly.
Le Fonti is a small boutique winery producing about 40-50,000 bottles a year. Since 1994 Le Fonti is in the hands of the Schmitt-Vitali family. From the harvest to the final blend, we depend on family manpower and sophisticated taste.
All vineyards have been replanted since 1994, taking great care to select the right type of plants with the correct rootstock. We have also renovated and extended the cellars.
