I bought these figs to make fruit-yeast-water for bread; it turned out good, but I gave up on making that type of bread. What I did not expect was these figs are GREAT when making Homemade Fig Newtons; just rehydrate, then add a little sugar and cook them until the water mostly reduces to a very thick syrup; then make the dough, roll it out, put the cooked figs/syrup on one-half of the dough, fold the rest of the dough over the figs, then bake! I am buying more; thank you Alma Gourmet for selling the figs!
